Spruille Braden is an Operational Resilience executive and subject matter expert experienced in creating standards, methodologies and frameworks uniquely capable of utilizing industry best practices within the complex global regulatory landscape. He is a seasoned professional in the Financial Services industry with subject matter expertise across all three lines of defense at top tier banks. Has over 15 years’ experience with Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management delivering risk-based, full-life cycle program management. In May 2024, Spruille joined Prudential Global Investment Management (PGIM) as the Head of Resilience for the firm. In addition to traditional Business Continuity and Crisis Management responsibilities, Spruille is evolving the program in line with the Operational Resilience landscape. Prior to PGIM, Spruille was the Enterprise Head of Operational Resilience at Citi tasked with managing a global program that (i.) satisfies the requirements of local regulatory authorities, and (ii.) drives strategic deliverables creating value for senior leadership. Prior to Citi, he was the Head of Operational Resilience at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) where led the development and implementation of the function at the firm. Spruille spent the majority of his career at UBS where he held several roles across multiple lines of business focused on execution and delivery of strategic initiatives. Spruille is active in the Resilience community since the onset of the competency in 2018. He was a co-chair for SIFMA’s “Resilience Forum” where he helped shape responses to regulatory guidance through the collaborative peer industry group. He participates in several forums aimed at shaping emerging rules amidst regulatory divergence in the Resilience space. Spruille lives in Connecticut with his wife Jamie and three daughters Emma, Elodie and Hailey (ages 13, 10 and 10, respectively).
