Alina Pastiu

Ms. Pastiu is the Director of Corporate Governance at BankUnited, N.A., overseeing regulatory policies, frameworks, and working with senior management and the Board of Directors. She joined BankUnited in 2010 as Associate General Counsel and moved to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in 2020. She played a significant role in the design and implementation of the Bank’s 3LOD governance framework. Ms. Pastiu has served as Secretary of the Risk and Audit Committees of the Board since 2018, as well as Secretary of the ERM Committee (ERMC) of the Bank. Ms. Pastiu specializes in risk governance, regulatory oversight, and 3LOD policies/frameworks. Before BankUnited, she was an attorney at Clifford Chance LLP and K&L Gates, working primarily as SEC counsel for public companies. Ms. Pastiu has expertise in Financial Institutions Regulations, Public Companies, IT/IS Risks, Compliance, and the 3LOD model. She holds a JD from Duke University School of Law and earned a B.A. and M.I.A. from Columbia University.
