Christopher Smith is currently the Global Head of Trade and Control Room Surveillanceat Barclays and has been with the firm since early 2019. Prior to joining Barclays, he spent 2 years with the Market Surveillance team at Citi where his main focus was building and supporting the firms Fixed Income Surveillance program, along with managing the firm’s responses to Regulatory Inquiries. Before that Chris managed a majority of Citi’s Credit Middle Office operations in the Americas, with staff in New York City, Buffalo, and Belfast. Chris spent approximately 5 years prior to this trading Bonds and Credit Default Swaps in an interdealer broker capacity, giving him an extensive front to back view of institutional trading businesses at large banks. He’s held additional roles both in and outside of management at Bloomberg and T. Rowe Price Mutual funds.
