Joseph Pizzuto is Chief Auditor of BNY and a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Joe leads our Internal Audit group to ensure the strength, effectiveness, and efficiency of the company’s internal controls system. Before joining BNY in 2023, Joe served as chief audit executive for some of the world’s largest organizations including General Motors, GE Capital, and Citibank N.A. He has been a leader in modernizing the audit function, driving operational efficiency and efficacy through data analytics and innovative digital capabilities. Joe has extensive experience working with financial regulators across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In the community Joe has led his teams in volunteer speaking and mentoring programs with high school seniors and supporting organizations which provide families in need with meals, support, and holiday gifts. Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting from City University of New York.
