Anthony is the Aegon Global Chief Audit Executive. Aegon is a leading provider of life insurance, retirement products and asset management, and is built around the ethos that customers and colleagues should “Live your best life”. In the US it’s major subsidiaries are: Transamerica and World Financial Group. Aegon is listed on the Amsterdam and New York stock exchanges, and is headquartered in the Netherlands, is domiciled in Bermuda and is regulated by the Bermudian Monetary Authority. The business units are in USA, UK, The Netherlands, Hong Kong, Spain, Singapore with joint ventures operating in Spain, Portugal, China and Brazil. Anthony is a Chartered Accountant (qualifying with KPMG London in 1998) and holds the UK Government Internal Audit Accreditation. Prior to Aegon, he worked for eight years as the Deputy Chief Auditor at Lloyds Banking Group, providing assurance over functional areas including: Finance & Treasury, Risk, ESG, Economic Crime, Culture and People. Anthony also spent eighteen years (the last four as an Equity Partner) at KPMG - with roles including, UK Head of Financial Services Internal Audit and Global Head of Banking Internal Audit services. He led engagements in Internal and External audit, working across the globe. Clients included HSBC, Barclays, Aviva, Société Générale, Deutsche Bank, NatWest, Banco Santander, Goldman Sachs, Lloyds of London, LBG, Bank of America, ICBC, Agricultural Bank of China, JP Morgan, UBS, Citi, Nomura, MUFG, Investec and Standard Bank. He undertook a three-year secondment to KPMG South Africa. In his last role with KPMG, he was seconded for three years as the Global Chief Internal Auditor at ICAP Plc, the world’s largest inter-dealer broker at the time, operating in 32 countries and over 60 offices.
