Julia Miller is a Managing Director at BMO Capital Markets (CM), where she leads first-line Operational Risk and Resilience within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she is focused on maturing the Operational Risk and Resilience program, strengthening the first-line control environment, and enhancing the execution of non-financial risk portfolio management for CM. She partners closely with traders and bankers to drive targeted risk reviews and process excellence, ensuring strong risk management both in North America and across CM’s international regions. She and her team leverage data and technology to optimize workflows, improve decision-making, and drive operational efficiency. A recognized leader in the industry, Julia was the recipient of the FWA Pacesetter Award in 2021 and has been an active mentor in the Capital Markets Women’s Mentorship Program since its inception in 2022. Prior to her current role, Julia played a key role in executing cross-CM initiatives that enhanced productivity and reduced cost, partnering across business and corporate areas on significant initiatives. She joined BMO in 2016 after working at a boutique consulting firm in New York, specializing in regulatory and change management.
